Children should have regular well-child check ups. In addition to vaccinations at these visits your child’s growth and development will also be tracked. You will also be able to discuss any concerns you have about your child’s development as well as nutrition and safety tips. Disease prevention is the key to public health. Vaccines protect both the people who receive them and those with whom they are in contact. They are responsible for controlling many infectious diseases and saving millions of lives.
The Stone County Health Department provides immunizations for children before their 19th birthday. Those who are eligible include uninsured, children with MO HealthNet (Medicaid) and underinsured. Underinsured is defined as a child who has health insurance, but the plan:
- does not provide vaccine coverage
- does not cover certain vaccines; or
- does cover vaccines, but has a fixed dollar cap for vaccine
Follow the links below to find out what vaccines your child needs!
